Former federal lawmaker from Kogi State, Dino Melaye, has expressed concern over the recent happenings in the country.
Speaking via social media on Thursday, Melaye stated that the country must not be allowed to die.
The erstwhile Senator highlighted issues such as the rumoured coup, President Donald Trump and the United States’ threat to invade Nigeria and also what he described as arbitrary and egocentric amendments of the country’s laws.
Melaye lamented that it has never been this bad since the return of civil rule in the country in 1999.
He wrote, “Nigeria must not die, the things happening in this country have never happened since 1999.
“Rumour of coup; Trump and America threat of invasion and arbitrary and egocentric amendment of extant laws.
“Enough is enough. In an unjust society, silence is a crime.”
Trump, recently redesignated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern for the second time, triggering a floodgate of reactions, criticisms and commendations from international and local observers, citizens and diplomats alike.
With assurances of the US Military invading encampments and hideouts of terrorist organizations in Nigeria, the US President warned the Nigerian government to quickly put an end to bloodbath and massacre going on in the country, else it would be left with no option but to carry out a military strike to save the Christian population.
