‘Their Fear Is Too Obvious’ – Adeyanju Queries Major Tinubu’s Supporters For Backing Peter Obi’s Presidential Ambition

DEJI ADEYANJU

Nigerian lawyer cum human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has questioned why frontline supporters of President Bola Tinubu are backing former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, to emerge as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Adeyanju, in a post via his 𝕏 handle, claimed that major Tinubu’s supporters like the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo and former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, among others are supporting Peter Obi to emerge as ADC 2027 candidate.

Naijaonpoint reports that Adeyanju was reacting to Fayose’s remark that Peter Obi is the only living person in the ADC.

Fayose made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme on Friday.

According to Fayose, other chieftains of the ADC and political figures in the party are old forces and no longer exist.

He said, “Peter Obi is the only life in ADC. Other lives there are semi-existing. Atiku and Tambuwal destroyed PDP.”

Reacting to the statement, Adeyanju asserted that Tinubu’s supporters are obviously afraid of a Northern presidential candidate, especially the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

He wrote, “Why are all major Tinubu supporters promoting Peter Obi their man Friday? From Keyamo to Fayose, etc; they want the coalition to present Obi.

“Why does it look like they are afraid of a northern candidate, especially the serial contester Atiku? Their fear is too obvious.”
