A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Farouk Aliyu, has asserted that no group of reasonable Muslim milita would decide to attack and kill Christians.
Naijaonpoint reports that Aliyu made this statement on Monday during an interview on ARISE Television’s ‘The Morning Show’ programme.
According to Aliyu, there is so much evidence that Muslims have also been killed by suspected bandits, stressing that the perpetrators of the crime are criminals who go about attacking people.
The APC chieftain also cited a prominent Muslim cleric killed in Kano by Muslim bandits.
He said, “If you look at the meaning of genocide in this country, there is no deliberate effort by the Muslim militia to deliberately go after and kill Christians.
“There is so much evidence also against Muslims being kidnapped and killed. I mean, a very prominent cleric in Kano was also killed by suspected Muslim bandits or extremists and so on.
“So I am seeing genocide when probably group of people like maybe the majority of Muslims in this country, are trying to target Christians, making sure that Christians do not rear their heads. That is not true. But whether there are killings? Yes. I admit there are killings.”
