The Presidency has dismissed the political strength of the opposition coalition to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
The Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication, Daniel Bwala, on Thursday argued that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers governor Rotimi Amaechi do not have the political weight to defeat Tinubu in the next polls.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV, he described the politicians as internally displaced politicians with no vision for the country.
He said, “They are just an association of wild goose chasers, consisting of internally displaced politicians forming a dead on arrival party. They are politicians seeking relevance, and they do not have any vision for the country.”
Naijaonpoint reports that Atiku, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, former governors Rauf Aregbesola of Osun and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, among other political heavyweights, recently formed a coalition to unseat Tinubu in 2027.
Obi explained that he joined the opposition coalition to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
In a post on his official X handle on Thursday, he said that no group could change Nigeria alone, adding that bridges must be built to dismantle the APC, even when they are uneasy.
According to him, the coalition members are committed to working together for the next election cycle.
