Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, addressed reports of a phone theft by his former record label.
In an official statement on his Instagram page, Potable revealed that the label’s owner gave him a phone during his time at Destiny Records. Unfortunately, due to the label’s lack of support, Portable decided to leave, which was met with hostility.
He said that after his departure, individuals affiliated with the label forcibly retrieved the phone, bypassed its password and went on to publicly humiliate him by stripping and falsely accusing him of theft. The singer claimed that those involved in the incident had privately contacted him, but had failed to correct the narrative publicly.

This is to clarify a past incident falsely accusing Portable of phone theft.
During his time with Destiny Records, Portable was provided a phone by the label’s owner, Ija Omode, who currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Union of Road Transport in Ogun State. Due to the label’s lack of support, Portable decided to leave. However, this was met with hostility.
After his departure, individuals affiliated with the label forcibly retrieved the phone, bypassed its password, and went on to publicly humiliate Portable by stripping and falsely accusing him of theft. A video of this incident was later circulated online by Naijakit.
Since rising to success, those involved have reached out to Portable privately, but have failed to publicly correct the narrative”.
In another post, the street singer described his former label’s behaviour as a clear case of intimidation and bullying. He stated that he is speaking out now not for revenge, but to set the record straight and protect upcoming artists from similar treatment.

Since entering the spotlight in 2022, Portable has had a ton of management.
In January, 2022 he fought dirty with his manager Quadri Taoreed, better known as Kogbagidi, accusing him of taking the SUV a fan gifted him. The two later reconciled, and Portable, during an interview, stated that the fight was only a ploy to get him in the news.
The street singer also parted ways with his 2-month-old manager, Yusuf Adepitan aka Ijoba Federal. Speaking out, Danku claimed that everyone around the artiste was tired of him and refuted claims of being indebted to him. He said he was glad the working relationship between him and the singer had ended as he was tired of his erratic behaviors.
In November, 2023, the street singer, in a press statement announced to the public that he had parted ways with his Road manager, Stelliza, over her financial misappropriation and unethical industry practices. He claimed that her behavior posed a significant risk to the business interests, global image, and industry reputation.
When the news of her death made headlines, Portable was in a celebratory mood. He stated that he had blown and collected his glory. He declared that anyone who didn’t want him to use his glory would die.
Last year, Portable called out his show promoter, Billyque, for allegedly ripping him and kidnapping him in Kenya. He made him know that greediness is destructive, as he claimed that Billyque is greedy.
