The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers and rec cycle just hours after it was reportedly stolen at Isuaniocha’ in Awka North Local Government area
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the incident occurred on the 23 September 21, 2025, at about 2:20 pm, when a tricycle operator was attacked at Isuaniocha bridge by armed men who dispossessed him of his yellow tricycle with registration number NZM 92 YH.
Operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad were immediately mobilised to the scene, rescue the victim and ashed him to a hospital where he is said to be responding to treatment.
Acting on technology-driven intelligence, the operatives traced the suspects to Awarasi Village where the stolen tricycle was recovered. The suspects-identified as 26-year-old Kosisochukwu Nweke, Emmanuel Eze, and 20-year-old Osondu Ifeanyi were arrested after attempting to escape Chase by the police.
Ikenga added that investigations are ongoing to uncover further leads into their criminal activities and that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
