Three Premier League clubs join Saudi side in pursuit of Leicester City’s Ndidi

Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi, is garnering attention from three Premier League clubs and a team from the Saudi Pro League ahead of the summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has scored a goal and provided four assists in 27 games across all competitions for the Foxes this season, but his presence wasn’t enough to salvage Premier League status for Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side.

Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton will be fighting for promotion in the EFL Championship next season after all three were confirmed relegated from the English top-flight this term.

Ndidi’s contract at the King Power Stadium runs out in 2027, but at 28, the Super Eagles midfielder wants to play top-tier football.

According to TalkSPORT, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Everton are all interested in the former Genk midfielder. Additionally, Saudi Pro League side, Al Ahli are also considering making a move for the one-time FA Cup winner.

Soccernet.ng previously reported that there is a clause in Ndidi’s contract that allows another club to pay €9 million for his services if Leicester City get relegated. With relegation confirmed, he wouldn’t cost a fortune to move to his next club.

Ndidi has played 300 games for Leicester City and has won the FA Cup, Community Shield, and the EFL Championship title with the Foxes.

He’s also relegated to the Championship for the second time with the club. It has been confirmed that Ruud Van Nistelrooy will exit the King Power Stadium at the end of this season alongside club legend, Jamie Vardy.

Considering the majority of the people who represent the successful era Leicester enjoyed in the English top-flight are leaving, it makes sense for Ndidi to join the train so the Foxes can have a proper rebuild.

It is sure that as the transfer window draws closer, Ndidi will have more offers, from bigger clubs too, as a player of his experience and pedigree will be well sought after.

It’ll be interesting to see if he’ll continue in England or move away from Europe completely to continue his career as the next chapter beckons.
