Nigerian entrepreneur, politician, and industrialist Shina Peller has clarified the relationship, or lack thereof, between himself and the viral TikToker known as Peller, who has been garnering public attention.
In an interview with Channels Television, Shina Peller explained that the entertainer is not connected to the esteemed Peller family, which is recognized for its magical heritage.
While acknowledging that the Peller family is large, he confirmed that the TikToker does not belong to their lineage.
“The name ‘Peller’ was given to our father as a magician, and it’s a name that our family has embraced since his time,” Shina Peller stated. He further emphasized, “So, Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name. He’s just being clever. He’s managed to find success using the name. You can’t blame him, but I can tell you clearly that he’s not a part of the Peller family.”
Shina, who is also involved in entrepreneurship and philanthropy, acknowledged the TikToker’s shrewdness in leveraging the family name for popularity, describing it as a strategic move. However, he firmly denied any familial connection.
This clarification comes at a time when many Nigerians have been speculating about a possible link between the viral content creator and the Professor Peller dynasty, which holds a significant place in the history of Nigerian magic and entertainment.
Professor Peller held his first post-training show at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos in 1966, before his untimely death in 1997.
