Timothée Chalamet confirms Dune: Part Three‘s new record-breaking production milestone. Following the two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi novel, Chalamet is returning as Paul Atreides in the upcoming Dune: Part Three, which is based on the author’s 1969 sequel novel Dune Messiah.
During a recent discussion with Adam Sandler (via The Hollywood Reporter), Timothée Chalamet revealed that he has wrapped filming Dune: Part Three, which appears to be the fastest filming timeline for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movies. The first was filmed from March 18 to July 26, 2019, followed by Part Two from mid-July to December 12, 2022.
Using Chalamet’s timeline and other reports, Part Three was filmed from July 8 to November 11, 2025. Using these date ranges, Dune (2021) took 130 days to film, followed by Part Two taking approximately 151 days, the longest of the three movies, while Part Three took 126 days.
Other than Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Dune: Part Three‘s cast also includes the return of Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides. New cast members include Robert Pattinson in an undisclosed role, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II Atreides, and Ida Brooke as Ghanima Atreides.
In August 2025, Anya Taylor-Joy suggested that Dune: Part Three might complete production by the end of the year, and now, as Timothée Chalamet reveals, it has done just that. By doing so, Dune: Part Three will have more than a year to complete post-production and be ready for its scheduled release date on December 18, 2026, the same day as Avengers: Doomsday.
