Tinubu, Akpabio, Others To Storm Plateau State For Gov Mutfwang’s Formal APC Reception

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other top chieftains of the ruling party are expected in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Tuesday for the formal reception of Governor Caleb Mutfwang into the APC.

Naijaonpoint reports that the event is expected to mark Mutfwang’s official entry into the ruling party in Plateau State.

A statement issued on Sunday in Jos by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee, Sir Joseph Ari, said national attention would be focused on Jos on the day of the event.

To this end, all is now set for the earth-shaking reception which has since generated happiness and also charged the political atmosphere in the state,” the statement read.

It added that the event had created widespread interest and anticipation among residents of the state.

According to the statement, the Central Planning Committee, co-chaired by a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, and a former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkon, has been working round the clock to ensure a successful outing.

“In addition, various sub-committees have swung into action to put in place all necessary arrangements for the grand reception,” Ari said.

He noted that since the announcement of the reception date, political activities in the state had intensified, with many residents eagerly awaiting the event.

The organisers disclosed that a series of activities had been lined up ahead of the reception, including a press conference, media engagements and road shows across parts of the state.

The statement said President Tinubu is expected to personally receive Governor Mutfwang, with the support of the APC National Chairman, Prof. Yilwatda; Senate President Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; Progressive Governors; and other dignitaries.

“With the level of arrangements so far put in place, the occasion is expected to be colourful and historic,” the statement added.
