PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has appointed the Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp) as the lead arranger and developer of Evergreen City, Nigeria’s Green Industrial Zone.

According to presidential spokeswoman Ajuri Ngelale, this appointment reflects the President’s commitment to ensuring economic development that fits the country’s current and future needs.

The corporation, managed by Dr. Lazarus Angbazo, will be in charge of selecting partners and consultants to carry out important development operations, as well as raising private finance for the city’s development and constituent projects.

The President has also approved the formation of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen, a supervisory technical working group that will oversee the pioneering endeavour.

The committee will be chaired by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Action.

The President tasked the team with driving this crucial project with the explicit goal of making Nigeria the premier manufacturing base in Africa for renewable energy technologies, green solutions, and climate-adaptation technologies.
