PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Louis Odion and Ummusalma Isiyaku Rabiu as Executive Commissioners of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), pending Senate confirmation.
The announcement was made yesterday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement posted on X.
If approved by the Senate in line with the FCCPC Act, 2018, Odion will serve as Executive Commissioner, Operations, while Rabiu will assume the role of Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services.
Odion, from Edo State, is a veteran journalist and former Senior Technical Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media.
He previously served as Edo State Commissioner for Information and holds master’s degrees in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham, UK, and in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
Rabiu, 35, from Kano State, is the founder of the Usir Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on empowering underprivileged communities through education, skills training, and humanitarian aid.
A graduate in Business Administration, she is recognised as an advocate for inclusive governance and active participation of youth and women in politics.
