President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital in Kaduna State, a 300-bed facility with nine wings, including maternal and child health, radiology and imaging, intensive care unit, and special care unit.
The hospital, which was initiated by former Vice President Namadi Sambo in 2009, is expected to fill a critical gap in the state’s healthcare system.
Tinubu praised Governor Uba Sani for his developmental projects, saying he has “performed wonders and changed the environment from a previous toxic, uncontrollable environment to a state of life, progress, and development.”
The President commended Sani for prioritizing the people and establishing the hospital to meet their healthcare needs.
The hospital’s commissioning is part of a series of projects inaugurated by President Tinubu in Kaduna State, including the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, roads, and vocational training centers.
The President also conferred the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR) on Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, a retired colonel and prominent June 12 advocate.
Governor Sani thanked the President for his consistent support, describing Tinubu as a leader whose vision has reshaped national priorities.
He highlighted the state’s progress, including the reopening of 535 schools, construction of 79 roads, and renovation of over 1,000 classrooms.
The Governor also announced a 50 percent reduction in tuition fees across state-owned tertiary institutions and revealed that the new CNG buses would be made free for students, civil servants, and pensioners for the next six months.
