President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to commission projects executed by Governor Babagana Zulum.
The president is set to inaugurate schools, electric vehicles, and other initiatives carried out by the state government in collaboration with the federal government.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the visit marks the start of a three-state tour to Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos on Saturday, December 20.
During the visit, Tinubu will also attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
From Maiduguri, the president will travel to Bauchi to offer condolences to the state government and family of Dahiru Bauchi, the late Muslim cleric and Tijjaniyya Brotherhood leader who passed away on November 27.
Afterwards, Tinubu will proceed to Lagos to spend the Christmas and year-end holidays. While in Lagos, he is expected to attend several engagements, including serving as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square.
Onanuga noted that the festival will celebrate prominent figures, including Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and former Lagos Governors Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
