President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with key political actors from Rivers State in a move to resolve the prolonged crisis rocking the state.
The meeting, held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, brought together the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule and other members of the state legislature.
Recall that Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers on March 18, 2025.
During that declaration, Tinubu suspended Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and the entire state House of Assembly, citing escalating insecurity and their inability to cooperate effectively.
