Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, is currently in a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
According to Punch, the retired defence chief arrived at the State House at 7:03 pm on Monday, where he was led into the President’s office area by a senior security official.
Monday’s engagement is Musa’s first public meeting with the Presidency since President Tinubu retired him from military service on October 24, 2025.
Dressed in dark-green traditional northern attire with elbow-length sleeves, the former military chief walked into the Presidential Villa.
At the time of filing this report, the purpose of the closed-door meeting remained unknown.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of heightened security concerns in Northern Nigeria, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.
Security agencies across the North-West and North-Central regions have increased counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations, deploying troops, intelligence assets and rapid-response units to troubled flashpoints.
Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, on Monday, gave an assurance that the children kidnapped from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri in Agwarra Local Government Area of Niger State will be rescued and safely returned home.
