Tinubu Presides Over FEC Meeting, Swears In New NASC Commissioner

President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Before the commencement of the meeting, Tinubu administered the oath of office to Nnana Uzor Kalu as the new commissioner representing the Southeast in the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).

Following the brief swearing-in, the council observed a minute’s silence in honour of the late Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade, a former cabinet member who passed away on May 11, 2025.

Olubolade had served as Minister of Special Duties, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, and Minister of Police Affairs under former President Goodluck Jonathan. He was also a military administrator of Bayelsa State during the regime of the late General Sani Abacha.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Head of Civil Service of the Federation Dr. Didi Walson-Jack, as well as several ministers and other top government officials.

Naijaonpoint reports that this FEC Meeting comes after a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting was held on July 17, 2025, in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on July 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
