PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following a two-week official trip that took him to Japan and Brazil.
His presidential jet touched down at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport at 1:20 a.m. today, August 28, 2025.
On arrival, Tinubu was welcomed by senior government officials, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as several ministers and advisers.
The president had departed Abuja on August 15, making a brief stop in Dubai before heading to Yokohama, Japan, where he participated in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) from August 20 to 22.
According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu also engaged in bilateral discussions and met with executives of Japanese firms investing in Nigeria.
After the Japan leg of his trip, Tinubu proceeded to Brasília on a state visit, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
