WATCH THE VIDEO HERE PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja following his official visit to China and a brief stay in the United Kingdom. This was announced in a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. President Tinubu departed Abuja for Beijing, China, on August 29th, and commenced his official engagements on Tuesday, September 2nd. During his time in China, he held bilateral meetings with President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, resulting in the signing of five memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and China. He also participated in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing, where, in his capacity as Chairman of ECOWAS, he delivered a speech on global peace, highlighting multilateralism and collaboration as key to international stability. President Tinubu concluded his visit by meeting with members of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization, China chapter, where he discussed the importance of his government’s reforms in Nigeria and expressed hopes that these changes would lead to improvements in infrastructure, power, and education similar to those in China. Following his visit to China, Tinubu traveled to London, where he met with King Charles III to discuss climate change and related actions.
