President Bola Tinubu has sent felicitations to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday and 22nd year on the throne.
The message was conveyed via a statement signed by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In the message, the President praised the monarch for his patriotic service to the nation and his leadership within Nigeria’s traditional institutions.
Tinubu highlighted Alhaji Abubakar’s distinguished military career, where he retired as a Brigadier-General before ascending the throne as the 13th Etsu Nupe in 2003.
“Etsu Nupe has contributed immensely to nation-building. He has used his revered position to promote unity, harmony, religious tolerance, peace and reconciliation in the country,” the President said.
He also commended the monarch’s humility, courage, and leadership, noting his roles as Chairman of the Abuja National Mosque Committee and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
President Tinubu prayed for the Etsu Nupe’s continued good health, wisdom, and a peaceful, prosperous reign over the Nupe Kingdom.
