PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced a Personal Income Tax calculator designed to help Nigerians understand the impact of the new tax reforms set to take effect from January 2026.
Announcing the tool on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle today, Tinubu explained that the calculator enables citizens to compare their current tax payments with what they would pay under the revised system.
He emphasized that the reforms were built on fairness, progressivity, and protection of low-income earners.
“A fair tax system must never punish poverty or weigh down the most vulnerable. With the new tax laws I recently signed, taking effect from January 2026, we have lifted this burden and created a path of equity, fairness, and true redistribution in our economy,” the President said.
The digital tool, accessible at fiscalreforms.ng, highlights how the changes will ease compliance while promoting transparency.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace the reforms and trust in the country’s future, saying: “Together, we are renewing hope in the Nigeria of our dreams. Take a bet on our country. Bet on Nigeria to work for you, your family, and your community.”
