Tinubu Urged To Probe Wike Over Alleged Florida Properties

Timi Frank and Wike

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Timi Frank, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address allegations linking the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to hidden property acquisitions in Florida, United States.

Frank, in a statement on Thursday, warned that the President’s silence over the matter was “troubling,” especially given the detailed reports from credible platforms.

“With detailed reports from credible sources such as People’s Gazette and Sahara Reporters, and with glaring evidence ignored by anti-corruption agencies like EFCC and ICPC, it sends a dangerous message that some officials are untouchable,” he said.

The activist suggested that the reluctance to act on the allegations could be tied to political permutations ahead of the next general elections.

“The reasons behind this continued inaction in the case of Wike appear tied to the political calculations surrounding the 2027 presidential elections,” he stated.

Frank cautioned that shielding powerful officials from accountability would damage the country’s reputation at home and abroad.

“Allowing political ambition to shield corruption will irreparably harm Nigeria’s reputation internationally. The President should protect the dignity of Nigeria and the trust of its citizens by rejecting selective justice and political expediency,” he said.

According to him, unchecked impunity and arrogance of public office holders “weaken citizens’ trust in governance and fuel revolts like the Nepal uprising.”
