A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has taken a swipe at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, claiming he has been politically “buried” by President Bola Tinubu and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
In a post shared via her verified 𝕏 handle on Sunday, Onochie alleged that Wike had been abandoned by the same political forces he once aligned with, asserting that power has shifted fully to Rivers State Governor Siminilayi Fubara.
“You have been buried politically already. Not only have @officialABAT and @Hope_Uzodimma1 thrown you under the bus, the keys of the bus were handed over to @SimFubaraKSC,” Onochie wrote.
She further mocked Wike, stating that his fate now depends on how much “of your pride you can swallow.”
Breaking down her predictions, Onochie claimed Fubara is now politically empowered to outmanoeuvre his estranged political benefactor.
“Fubara may get back the six months you and Pres Tinubu stole from him. Then Fubara will get a second term. Fubara will nominate your replacement before the end of 2026. Fubara is your new Godfather,” she added.
In other news, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has declared that it will largely follow the directives of Wike, as the 2027 general elections approach.
Naijaonpoint reports that the pledge was made by the Chairman of the APC in Ahoada West, Rejoice Otobo, during Wike’s “thank you” visit to the area on Sunday.
Otobo assured the minister that party members in the LGA are ready to act on Wike’s guidance, citing the developmental impact Wike had during his time as governor.
“We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do. All the people of this LGA have decided that where you want us to go is where we will all go,” Otobo said.
