PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu marked Nigeria’s 64th independence anniversary with a nationwide address, pledging to address the country’s pressing issues and outlining his administration’s strategies for progress.
In his speech, President Tinubu acknowledged the struggles Nigerians face, including rising living costs, insecurity, and economic challenges. He assured citizens that their concerns are being heard and that sustainable solutions are being implemented.
President Tinubu reported successful security operations against Boko Haram and banditry, resulting in the elimination of over 300 commanders. The administration’s economic reforms have attracted over $30 billion in foreign investments. Additionally, initiatives in agricultural development, including mechanized farming and local assembly plants, aim to boost food production and reduce costs.
The president also emphasised youth empowerment through conferences, job creation programs, and education loan funds. The National Youth Conference will address challenges and opportunities for young people, who constitute over 60% of Nigeria’s population.
President Tinubu urged citizens to believe in Nigeria’s promise, emphasiSing resilience and tenacity. “We are Nigerians—resilient and tenacious. We always prevail and rise above our circumstances,” he said.
With these initiatives, President Tinubu aims to build a more inclusive, prosperous and united Nigeria, where every citizen can access opportunities and every child can grow up with hope and promise.
