Abdul-Aziz Na’ibi Abubakar, a supporter of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, has told President Bola Tinubu to focus on governance rather than attempts to weaken his political rival.
In a post on X on Friday, Abubakar said any effort to undermine Atiku will only boost the former vice-president’s chances ahead of the 2027 election.
His words: “Dear President Bola Tinubu, focus on fulfilling your responsibilities as Nigeria’s leader. Any attempt to undermine Atiku Abubakar will only bolster his support and erode your own.
“It is clear you will serve a single term. Prepare to peacefully transfer power to Atiku Abubakar in 2027.”
His remarks came after Peoples Gazette reported that Interpol distanced itself from an alleged attempt by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to link Bashir Haske, Atiku’s son-in-law, to a wanted alert.
