The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has welcomed the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Fubara, with Fubara’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, the entire South-South is now in the APC.

He expressed delight with the decision of the Rivers State Governor to dump the PDP and pitch his tent with the APC.

“With joy in my heart, I join all the progressives home and abroad in welcoming my dear friend and brother His excellency Sim Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, to the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC).

“With this move, we can boldly say the entire South South is now APC,” Bwala wrote on his 𝕏 account.

Naijaonpoint recalls that Fubara announced his defection on Monday during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Fubara’s defection comes hours after he held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.

Explaining his defection, Fubara said: “We can’t support President (Tinubu) if we don’t fully identify with him, not just backyard support. Our decision this evening is that we are moving to the APC.”

The political move follows Fubara’s recent reconciliation with his estranged political godfather and predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
