Speaking in an interview today, Dalung who served under Buhari’s administration, said the cabals in Buhari’s government sidelined the former president and took over governance. However, he highlighted that while the cabals around Buhari were not highly educated, Tinubu’s inner circle comprises ambitious and well-educated individuals with an intricate understanding of power dynamics. Dalung noted their capacity to manipulate authority, restrict access to the president, and control information flow as key concerns. In July 2024, Tinubu, who narrowly emerged victorious in the February 2023 elections and assumed office on May 29, 2023, denied being influenced by any cabal or financial backer.
