Tizeti deploys 100,000m fibre in Lagos, others

Tizeti, a West African internet service provider, has completed the installation of over 100,000 meters of fibre across Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Accra, Ghana under its FreeFiber.Africa initiative, the company’s CEO, Kendall Ananyi, disclosed in a LinkedIn post on Monday.

The expansion, which aims to deliver ultra-fast and unlimited fibre internet, marks a significant milestone for the company’s push to improve broadband connectivity in the region.

“We have successfully completed the installation of over 100,000+ meters of fibre across Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Accra, bringing blazing-fast, truly unlimited internet to homes and businesses. Residents in these cities can now experience the fastest fibre network in the region that is built for the future.” He added, “In Lagos, we have extensive coverage across Ikate, Agungi, Lekki Phase 1, and Ajah, with more expansion underway. In Port Harcourt, our network is growing across Woji, while in Accra, we are building aggressively across East Legon Hills and beyond.”

He described the rollout as more than just infrastructure deployment, calling it a “revolution in connectivity” designed to provide world-class internet to homes and businesses.

Tizeti first launched FreeFiber.Africa in December 2024 to offer high-speed, affordable internet to underserved areas. With this latest milestone, the company said it is on track to scale the network further across West Africa.

Ananyi added that Tizeti remains committed to expanding its fibre footprint and will announce additional locations in the coming months.

In December, the Chief Operating Officer, Ifeanyi Okonkwo, emphasised this commitment, stating, “This initiative is more than just fast internet. It’s about empowering communities, fostering innovation, and enabling people to thrive in a digitally connected world.

“Our free fibre service will revolutionise how people, homes, and businesses in West Africa access the internet, creating new opportunities for education, communication, and commerce.”
