Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare is expected to start for Wolves when they lock horns with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
After a long summer of speculations around his future, Arokodare joined Wolves on transfer deadline day, in a deal worth €26 million.
The Super Eagles star was brought in to create competition for first-choice striker Jorgen Strand Larsen and give them an extra option. So, it was expected that Arokodare would have to bid his time before getting minutes
However, things might move really fast for the 24-year-old striker in the coming weeks. This is as Wolves coach Vitor Pereira has confirmed that Strand Larsen will be sidelined due to an injury.
During his post match interview on Friday, he stressed that Strand Larsen’s “injury was a bit serious.” This might mean a few weeks on the sidelines for the 25-year-old Norwegian.
A Chance For Tolu Arokodare To Profit
With Jorgen Strand Larsen out of the way, Arokodare can fancy getting himself a starting shirt soon. It is even likely to come this weekend at St. James Park, where Wolves take on Newcastle United.
