Tolu Arokodare: Super Eagles striker tops Palmer, Haaland, Yamal, in attacking metric

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare is coming off a career-best campaign with Genk, and he made quite a mark, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Amiens man contributed 23 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. Arokodare’s brilliance won him the Ebony Shoe Award and a place in the Super Eagles squad.

Now, according to Data MB, a platform that analyzes players’ performances, Arokodare ranks first among all Under-24 players in Europe for expected non-penalty goals and assists.

The Super Eagles star is ranked higher than some of the world’s most talented attackers. Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike is ranked second, while Spezia’s Salvatore Esposito third and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal are joint-third. Then, Borja Sainz is fifth.

Premier League stars Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland are seventh and eighth respectively. Bayer Munich star Michael Olise is joint 14th with Nikola Stulic and Jack Rudoni.

Also, there have been speculations around his future, with clubs Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Besiktas all reportedly monitoring him.
