A civil society group, The Osun Masterminds (TOM), has raised fresh concerns over abandoned renovation projects at the Osun State House of Assembly, describing the prolonged inaction on key sites as unacceptable.
Delivering the August 2025 State of the State Address at a press conference, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, Executive Director of The Osun Masterminds, said it was disturbing that two years after work began on the Assembly Gate and Assembly Quarters, both projects remain incomplete.
The group questioned interim housing arrangements for lawmakers and warned against wasteful spending while quarters purpose-built for members lie idle.
They insisted that accountability must be demanded from both the Assembly leadership and the state government.
Turning to local governance, the group welcomed the state’s decision to approach the Supreme Court to resolve the local government impasse and restart grassroots development.
They urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to convene a broad stakeholders meeting that includes political parties, faith leaders, and community groups to restore calm across councils.
The group also called for collaboration with security agencies to secure council facilities and enable staff to return to work without fear, while advising APC stakeholders to use the Supreme Court process to settle all disputes lawfully.
On infrastructure, they asked the state to rehabilitate the Ibokun to Imesi Ile road and the Ila Orangun road as a priority.
They further pressed for completion of ongoing works on the Iwo to Ibadan corridor and the Ilesa township road to improve access and safety.
Reaffirming their watchdog role, the group demanded swift action on the Assembly projects and broader reforms that deliver transparency, value for money, and tangible relief to citizens.
