WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Tony Buzbee, the Houston-based attorney who represented a woman who recently admitted to lying about her allegations of rape made against Jay-Z, has denied claims he pushed to make the false allegations. Jane Doe alleged Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party when she was 13 years old. After ABC News released the audio clip of two private investigators interrogating Doe, Buzbee dropped an audio recording of his own, seemingly showing Doe denying she made the confession. “They say they have you on tape denying that Jay-Z assaulted you? Is that true?” Buzbee says on the recording. “No. No. I don’t – I’ve never said that,” Doe replied.
“Okay, they also say that you told them, and they have it on tape, that I, Tony Buzbee, told you to – like came up with this plan and told you to say that Jay-Z assaulted you so you would get more money?” he asked her. “No,” Doe replied. Jay-Z is suing Buzbee for $20 million over the false allegations made in the dismissed lawsuit. He also issued a statement to the news outlet, calling it a “blatant lie.” He also issued a statement to another news outlet, supporting his client and denying the allegations heard on the initial tape. “I spoke to Jane Doe immediately after being contacted by ABC,” Buzbee’s says in a statement to press. “She has not admitted she lied. The opposite is true. Her position is very clear and has never changed. The tape is a fabrication.” Doe is claiming she made the claims because she felt intimidated by the investigators.
