The Premier League is widely regarded as the biggest league in the world and many of the sport’s most talented players dream of competing in this division. From Bukayo Saka to Erling Haaland, the league is home to numerous young players with staggering valuations.

The English top-flight is one of the wealthiest leagues in world football, with its top clubs boasting some of the most valuable players globally. Transfer fees have surged dramatically in recent years, leading to a humongous increase in the market value of football players.

Soccernet.football takes a look at the ten most valuable players currently playing in England’s first division.

10. Gabriel Saliba – Arsenal (€80m)

The Frenchman was a pillar at the back for Arsenal during their two consecutive title challenges, and many attribute his absence in the closing stages of the 2022/2023 season as a key factor in the team’s late collapse. Now valued at €80 million, the French international played every minute of the 2023/2024 Premier League campaign. Saliba’s exceptional performances at the heart of Arsenal’s defense have placed him in the same conversation as Virgil van Dijk and Ruben Dias, despite being just 23 years old.

9. Cole Palmer – Chelsea (€80m)

Palmer emerged as the breakout star of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, quickly establishing himself as the first name on Chelsea’s team sheet. The England international contributed 33 goals in just 34 league appearances during his debut season at Stamford Bridge, serving as a bright spark in an otherwise dull campaign for Chelsea.

8. Ruben Dias – Manchester City (€80m)

The Portuguese center-back has won the Premier League trophy in each of the four seasons he’s spent in England. The Manchester City star is willing to put his body on the line and is brilliant in possession of the ball. He’s right up there with Saliba and Virgil van Dijk as one of the best central defenders in England’s first division.

7. Bruno Guimaraes – Newcastle United (€85m)

Since arriving in the Premier League, the Brazilian has enjoyed a seamless adaptation to the English game. His ferociousness coupled with his reliability in possession, has been a perfect fit for the Magpies, helping them secure Champions League qualification in his first full season. Guimaraes is already attracting interest from several top clubs including Man City and Arsenal but a move to either destination this summer seems unlikely at the moment.

6. Martin Odegaard – Arsenal (€110m)

The Norwegian maestro has earned a reputation for his relentless work rate and exceptional passing ability. From being a wonderkid to maturing into a world-class player, Ordegaard’s rise to prominence has been remarkable and he has now become one of the most valuable players in the world’s biggest football league. The Arsenal skipper will certainly be pivotal again in the coming season as the Gunners aim to finally edge Manchester City to the PL crown.

5. Declan Rice – Arsenal (€120m)

The former West Ham United skipper played a crucial role in narrowing the gap between Arteta’s side and Man City even though his addition wasn’t enough to usurp the perennial champions. Beyond delivering dominant performances as a defensive midfielder at the Emirates, Rice evolved into an exceptional box-to-box player during the latter part of his debut season.

4. Rodri – Manchester City (€130m)

Rodri is a phenomenal defensive midfielder and perhaps the best in the world. His off-the-ball intelligence is exceptional, as the Spaniard consistently positions himself perfectly on the pitch. At 27 years old, he’s widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted players in midfield, consistently dictating the tempo of games. During the 2023/2024 season, The Euro 2024 Player of the tournament  made crucial attacking contributions, scoring nine goals and providing 14 assists.

3. Bukayo Saka – Arsenal (140m)

In 2024, Saka ranks among the top wingers globally as his stocks in the Premier League continue to rise. Over the past two years, the England international has arguably been Arsenal’s most valuable attacking asset with his consistently impressive performances. If Arteta’s young Gunners are to secure major trophies in the near future, Saka will undoubtedly have a huge hand in the build-up to their success.

2. Phil Foden – Manchester City (€150m)

Foden registered 39 goal contributions for his club in all competitions during the 2023/2024 season. The England international emerged as one of the most important players in a star-studded Manchester City team that made history by becoming the first-ever side to win four consecutive Premier League titles. Foden may have a had a relatively quiet outing at the 2024 Euros but we expect to see the Stockport sensation get back to his mesmerizing best when the new season kicks off.

1. Erling Haaland – Manchester City (180m)

The Norwegian goal-machine has enjoyed about as good a start to life in England as possible, picking up back-to-back Golden Boot awards during his first two Premier League campaigns while lifting the Premier League trophy on both occasions. The 23-year-old striker is expected to be one of the best players in the world for the next decade, at least and if his form during the preseason friendly games is anything to go by, then Premier League defenders certainly have a lot to think about going into the new season.
