Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi has described Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as one of the top three best forwards in world football today, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen, who is enjoying a prolific spell in Turkey, has found the back of the net 33 times and provided eight assists in just 38 appearances for Galatasaray this season.

His impressive form has piqued the attention of many football enthusiasts, particularly Amokachi, who has applauded the forward’s growth and maturity since his loan move from Napoli.

“He is a player, he is a warrior, he has a lion’s heart – you know the symbol of Galatasaray that he has inside him,” Amokachi said, as shared by onejoblessboy on X. “I looked at Osimhen when he was in Napoli and I look at Osimhen now at Galatasaray, and I think that he matured more as a striker at Galatasaray.”

Amokachi also pointed to Osimhen’s composed finishing in Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifying clash against Rwanda as a sign of his development in Turkey.

“The two goals he scored in the World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, when he was in Napoli, it wouldn’t have been that. [He] was calm to score it. I think playing among some elite players at Galatasaray has built more experience in him. He is playing mature football now,” the former Super Eagles assistant coach added.

“If he is not the best striker today, you can place him among the top three best strikers in the world.”

Osimhen’s red-hot form has continued to draw attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, but the 26-year-old appears focused on delivering success for Galatasaray as they chase the Super Lig title this season.
