Sonstar Peterson, the father of Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, has shared an update about his son’s fight for freedom and says he will be back home soon.
Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence in connection with the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
“I believe with all of my heart that he will be out and much sooner than a lot of people think,” he said on Power 106.
“I wouldn’t go on record giving a date right now, but what I will say is that there are movements happening in the background. The powers that be can clearly see that this was a hatchet job,” he continued. “There are things happening right now, and, like I said, I believe it’s much sooner than a lot of people think, than later. He’s coming home.”
Lanez has ramped up his appeal efforts, and on May 29, his legal team launched 36hourslater.com, dropping new video, audio, and a 35-page breakdown from the night Megan Thee Stallion was shot in 2020.
Lanez has always maintained his innocence.
