Speedy, the uncle of incarcerated Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, is speaking out after a judge refused to allow his nephew’s legal team to submit new evidence proving his innocence.
In the clip below, Speedy explains why Lanez initially handled the aftermath of the shooting the way he did.
“The best way to solve s–t in Hollywood and everywhere else is just to shut the f–k up and be quiet,” he explained to TMZ. “He could’ve opened his mouth from the gate and said, ‘I didn’t do this s–t.’ That’s what it was, NAIJAONPOINT , everything. He got the short end of the stick,” he said.
Speesy says Megan Thee Stallion lied about the details of the incident that night.
Crystal Morgan, one of Lanez’s attorneys, also addressed the decision to shut down any new evidence.
“I feel that courts need to be fair. That’s the main key. That’s why I work for Daystar Peterson,” she shared. “It’s not the fact that he’s Tory Lanez, it’s the fact that he’s an innocent man and I do feel that the district attorney hoodwinked like he accused us of doing and so, I don’t like it when I find a case where I feel that the results have been manipulated to get a conviction. Convictions don’t always equal justice.”
Lanez maintains that he was not the shooter that night in summer 2020, and has alluded to Megan’s former friend, Kelsey Nicole, being the shooter.
