The Sacred Sands of Time make a comeback in 4K with the new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, as part of the trilogy’s limited-edition box set. In the new restoration, fans will once more be able to follow the mystical scepter that takes April O’Neil and her trusty Turtles to feudal Japan, where the foursome must rescue their friend from the villainous Lord Norinaga and champion the local rebels’ cause.

Of course, the beloved TMNT trilogy began in 1990, when director Steve Barron’s martial arts-infused comedy became a box office hit. The Secret of the Ooze quickly followed in 1991 (though it was now directed by Michael Pressman), and the trilogy was completed in 1993 with the time-travel extravaganza, directed by Stuart Gillard. While the practical effects may feel quaint in today’s CGI-filled world, but the animatronics developed by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop are a large part of what makes these movies such classics.
