Trey Songz’s Legal Team Hits Back at Media Over Photographer Clash

MTO Square

Trey Songz’s attorney has lashed out at media coverage of the R&B singer’s recent heated exchange with a photographer.

“The media is unfairly turning an unfinished story into clickbait to sell a new headline. That’s lazy and unfair,” attorney Ted Anastasiou told TMZ in a statement.

He continued, “Trey disputes the characterization of events, is cooperating fully with authorities, and looks forward to the facts, not speculation, speaking for themselves.”

According to the legal expert, the incident was kicked off by paparazzi constantly “invading an artist’s personal space,” saying it is a “growing issue” that puts “everyone at risk.”

Tensions ran high at a Hollywood venue recently when Trey Songz allegedly became agitated during a night out, leading to a heated altercation that ended with a photographer filing a police report.
According to photographer Mansoor, the incident began when Songz got into a dispute with a group of patrons inside the venue. As fans started requesting photos and videos, the R&B singer appeared increasingly irritated, Mansoor claims.

Once the crowd moved outside, Mansoor says he attempted to snap a few photos of Songz near the venue’s logo at the owner’s request, when things allegedly took a violent turn.

“He punched him in the head and threw him against a wall before smashing two of his cameras,” Mansoor says, adding that Songz appeared unaware he was working the event.

After being informed of Mansoor’s role, Songz allegedly responded, “I didn’t give a f–k” about the photographer’s affiliation with the venue.
Mansoor says he fled to a friend’s car for safety while Songz took off. He has since filed a police report, and the incident is now under investigation.
