The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) says it recorded significant breakthroughs across various theatres of operation between June 30 and July 10, 2025, with dozens of terrorists and criminal elements neutralised, arrested or surrendering, even as troops intensified both kinetic and non-kinetic operations nationwide.

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) says it recorded significant breakthroughs across various theatres of operation between June 30 and July 10, 2025, with dozens of terrorists and criminal elements neutralised, arrested or surrendering, even as troops intensified both kinetic and non-kinetic operations nationwide.
According to a weekly report released by the Director, Defence Media Operations (DDMO), Major General Markus Kangye, troops working alongside hybrid forces and other security agencies sustained pressure across the North East, North West, North Central, South South, and South East, yielding “resounding outcomes.”
He stressed that within the period under review, troops foiled oil theft worth over N263.8 million naira in the South South region of the country.
”The professionalism, resilience and determination of our troops continue to inspire confidence in our ability to defeat the enemies of our nation.
”In the Niger Delta region, troops under Operation Delta Safe foiled attempts to steal crude oil worth N263.8 million. Recovered items included 198,482 litres of stolen crude, 63,846 litres of illegally refined diesel, and 947 litres of petrol. Troops also dismantled 15 illegal refining sites, 24 crude oil cooking ovens, 26 pits, and 19 storage tanks.
”Additionally, eight suspects were arrested, while assorted arms, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered. Nine vehicles used by the criminals were seized in the operation,” Kangye stated.
He disclosed that scores of Boko Haram, ISWAP terrorists were eliminated in the North East, adding that a significant number of terrorists, including women and children, surrendered to troops.
He said,”In the North East, under Operation Hadin Kai, troops carried out raids in Platari, Sambisa Forest, and the Timbuktu Triangle, killing scores of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters. A significant number of terrorists, including women and children, reportedly surrendered to troops.
”Notably, a high-profile terrorist commander identified as Ibn Ali surrendered in Bama LGA of Borno State, along with a cache of weapons and ammunition.
”Troops also arrested five terrorist collaborators, rescued four kidnap victims, and recovered N822,500, arms, ammunition, and IEDs during operations in Gwoza, Kaga, Mafa, Dikwa, Konduga, and other parts of Borno and Adamawa States.”
Gen. Kangye stressed that airstrikes decimated terrorist camps in Zamfara, adding that troops arrested five suspects and rescued two kidnap victims. also, that arms, motorcycles, and over N28,000 were recovered,
He further stated that extremists were nabbed in Plateau, Kaduna, and Taraba states
”In the North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA recorded major successes as the Air Component, in conjunction with ground forces, conducted coordinated strikes in Jam-Gemu, Yarbuga, and Kinduntu in Gusau LGA, Zamfara State, killing several top terror commanders.
