United States President, Donald Trump has accused Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro of copying his dance moves and committing violent acts.
Naijaonpoint reports that he revealed this while celebrating the capture of Maduro in a speech to Republican lawmakers at the Kennedy Center in Washington on Tuesday.
Trump described Maduro as a violent figure responsible for the deaths of many people and referred to an alleged torture site in Caracas, though he did not provide details.
He claimed Maduro’s public dancing had caught the attention of US officials and contributed to the decision to act against him.
He said: “He gets up there and he tries to imitate my dance a little bit.
“But he’s a violent guy, and he’s killed millions of people. He’s tortured. They have a torture chamber in the middle of Caracas that they’re closing up.”
During his speech, Trump compared himself to Maduro, saying the Venezuelan often tried to imitate his dancing.
Known for performing at his rallies, Trump included a brief dance demonstration while addressing lawmakers and noted his wife’s dislike for his dancing, contrasting it with past US presidents’ conduct.
Although the raid on Maduro and his wife was a key focus, much of Trump’s address centered on the 2026 midterm elections.
He warned Republicans that failure to win could lead to political repercussions for him and reminded them of the pardons he issued to January 6 Capitol rioters.
Trump also encouraged lawmakers to prioritize issues such as healthcare and the rising cost of living, saying public concerns over the affordability of basic goods.
