President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Saturday confirmed that American forces had launched a “very successful” airstrike on three of Iran’s major nuclear facilities, in what is shaping up to be one of the most significant U.S. military operations in the region in recent years.
Naijaonpoint reports that Trump made the announcement via his social media platform, Truth Social, where he detailed the targets and outcome of the high-stakes offensive.
“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran’s airspace,” Trump wrote.
He revealed that the primary target, Fordow, received a full payload of bombs, adding, “All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is no other military in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”
The Department of Homeland Security, through a post on its 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) handle, corroborated the president’s statement, noting that the attack involved the use of bunker buster bombs.
