President Donald Trump says Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team has finally reached out to him about a possible pardon ahead of his Oct. 3 sentencing date.

Speaking on Newsmax, he was asked about a pardon, and he replied, “They have talked to me about Sean.”

Last month, Trump shared that he was unlikely to pardon Diddy as the disgraced music mogul had made several negative remarks about him in the past.

“He was essentially, I guess, sort of half-innocent,” Trump remarked to Newsmax host Rob Finnerty. “He was celebrating a victory, but I guess it wasn’t as good of a victory.”

“When I ran for office, he was very hostile. It’s hard, you know? We’re human beings. And we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements,” he said. “So I don’t know … It makes it more difficult to do.”

Diddy was denied bail for a fifth time this week, after a judge accused him of being a flight risk and a danger to the public.
