Trump Says No Pardon for Diddy

Sean “Diddy” Combs will not be getting an early exit from prison anytime soon if President Donald Trump has anything to do with it.

Trump told The New York Times that Diddy reached out in writing to seek presidential clemency but said he has no plans to grant it. He even offered to show the letter to the reporter.

The decision comes after reports that Diddy had been telling fellow inmates at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey last fall that he expected a pardon from Trump early in 2026.

Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence following his conviction on two prostitution related charges. After his sentencing in October 2025, sources said his legal team quickly contacted a senior White House official believed to have access to the president to explore possible options for clemency. Trump later confirmed publicly that he was aware of the request and was weighing it.

At the time, insiders described Trump as undecided. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office last October, he said, “I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile. I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon,” adding, “When you knew someone and you were fine and then you run for office and he made some terrible statements… so I don’t know… it makes it more difficult to do.”
