Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Begin As ICE Arrests Over 460 Illegal Immigrants

In a sweeping operation during President Donald Trump’s first day in office, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested over 460 undocumented immigrants, including many with serious criminal records.

Naijaonpoint learnt that the arrests, carried out by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit, took place within a 33-hour period from midnight on January 21 to 9 a.m. on January 22.

Those detained included individuals with histories of sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug and weapons offenses, resisting arrest, and domestic violence.

According to Fox News, the detainees came from various countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Venezuela, among others.

Arrests were made in multiple states across the U.S., such as Illinois, California, Florida, and Maryland.

This large-scale operation aligns with Trump’s campaign promise to deport millions of undocumented immigrants from the United States.

Following his inauguration, he signed an executive order to accelerate the removal of illegal immigrants, emphasizing a focus on those with criminal records.

Speaking via his media platform Truth Social, Trump vowed to deport millions and stabilize the border with Mexico.
