Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man accused of the 1996 shooting death of late rapper Tupac Shakur, has sat down for his first-ever television interview since his arrest in 2023, where he claimed that he is innocent.
“I’m innocent,” he told ABC News. “I did not do it.”
Keefe D claims that prosecutors have no concrete evidence connecting him to the murder.
“They don’t have nothing. And they know they don’t have nothing. They can’t even place me out here. They don’t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing,” he added. “I ain’t killed nobody. Never did, never killed nobody.”
Keefe D now says that he wasn’t even in the same state as Pac at the time of the murder. He says that during the incident, which took place in Las Vegas, he was in Los Angeles and that he has witnesses who can confirm his alibi.
In his memoir and in past interviews, Keefe D has boasted about his alleged involvement, even claiming to have been in the same vehicle with the shooter at the time of the killing.
“Duane Davis was the shot caller for this group of individuals that committed this crime,”Las Vegas police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson during the press conference following his arrest, “and he orchestrated the plan that was carried out.”
