Former Turkiye and Galatasaray winger Hasan Şaş has revealed how Okan Buruk’s side can optimise Victor Osimhen’s performances on the pitch, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old striker has scored 43 goals for the CimBom Aslan since joining from Napoli last season. Additionally, the striker also won the league’s Golden Boot.
However, for Şaş, Osimhen’s numbers could’ve been much more if he received proper service from his club teammates.

Galatasaray should cross more to Osimhen
Upon review of Galatasaray’s set-up, in comparison to how the striker plays for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Hasan Şaş revealed Osimhen can score more goals from crosses.
“You have a player like Victor Osimhen, who is very good at heading the ball, who leaps with such a great head, but no crosses are coming at all!
“He’s Galatasaray’s biggest goal-scoring option, you know. Galatasaray’s full-backs aren’t crossing to Osimhen. They can’t,” the 49-year-old told ASpor in quotes revealed by Forza CimBom.

“Use this option, for God’s sake—the guy heads every ball. We’re not seeing crosses from Eren, from Jakobs or Sallai,” the former Galatasaray assistant manager continued.
“Leroy Sané, being left-footed, cuts inside from time to time because he’s left-footed and struggles with those inswinging crosses
“Yunus dribbles a lot. We’re not seeing anything from Barış [Yilmaz]. Who’s going to feed this player? Is Osimhen always going to have to fend for himself?”
“When the wingers cut inside, the fullbacks need to push forward. Where do you make the cross?

“If you curl it between the goalkeeper and that six-yard box we call the penalty spot, whether it’s in the air or not, the keeper can’t come out for it.
“That’s where Osimhen’s options multiply even more. Gabriel Sara is actually the best for it; he should be taking all the set pieces.
“Because of the set pieces he takes, he gives his striker options. I mean, the ball comes in on such a beautiful curve, from the air,” Şaş concluded.

Osimhen currently holds the record for most consecutive goals scored by a Galatasaray player in European competitions, breaking Burak Yilmaz’s record of scoring in six straight games.
