At least two people have been killed in separate attacks on the Adabka and Mashayar Zaki communities in Zamfara.
A report by Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, said three people were also injured in the incidents.
Makama said about 43 gunmen invaded Adabka in Bukkuyum local government area around 11:30am on Wednesday and opened fire, killing a 45-year-old man.
He said the victim’s body was taken to a hospital for autopsy and later released to the family for burial.
Makama, quoting police sources, said an investigation had begun and that efforts were under way to track down the attackers.
Less than an hour later, he said another group of armed men attacked Mashayar Zaki along the Gusau–Dansadau Road in Maru local government area, killing one person and injuring three others.
The attacks came less than 24 hours after the arrest of a 32-year-old man suspected of attempting to procure ammunition from the FCT for bandits in Zamfara.
