Super Eagles stars Raphael Onyedika and Tolu Arokodare have been nominated alongside three other players for the Ebony shoe award, Soccernet.ng reports.

Arokodare and Onyedika have both enjoyed brilliant campaigns with Genk and Club Brugge this season.

While Onyedika has been a midfield Stalwart for the reigning Jupiler League champions, Arokodare currently leads the Belgian top-flight’s goalscorers’ chart with 20 goals and six assists in 35 appearances.

With the Jupiler League almost done, both players have been recognized for their brilliance as per DH Sports, they have been nominated for the Ebony Award, an award that started in 1992, with the first awarded being Daniel Amokachi.

Who are the other players that have been nominated?

Aside from Super Eagles stars Tolu Arokodare and Raphael Onyedika, the other players that have been nominated are Union SG striker Promise David who is of Nigerian descent but has pledged his allegiance to Canada. There is also Moroccan wing-back Zakaria El Ouahdi (Genk), and DR Congo defender Noah Sadiki.

All these players have been impressive in the Jupiler Pro League this season. However, Arokodare seems like the favorite to nick it due to his goals haul this season. If he could even push Genk to win the Jupiler Pro League, then, it will be almost impossible for him to not win it.

The winner will be announced at an even that will take place in Brussels on May 12.
