Tyga Connects with Late Mother Through Celebrity Psychic Tyler Henry

Rapper Tyga is still mourning the heartbreaking loss of his mother, Pasionaye Nguyen, who passed away earlier this year. And now, he’s opening up about how he’s working through his grief — with the help of a little spiritual guidance.

In February, the 35-year-old artist shared that his mother had passed on January 18, 2025, though he didn’t disclose the cause of death. The news left fans shocked and sympathetic, as Tyga has always spoken fondly and openly about the powerful role his mother played in his life.

In an emotional Instagram tribute posted shortly after her passing, Tyga wrote:

“I been trying to understand and process why God takes the most meaningful and most beautifulest people away from us. But I know I’ll never get an answer that will fill the emptiness in my heart… I would trade anything just to be able to be with you again. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”

This week, Tyga gave fans another deeply personal glimpse into his grieving process. The rapper met with celebrity psychic Tyler Henry, known for his show Hollywood Medium, in an effort to connect with his late mother spiritually.

Tyga took to Instagram Stories to thank Tyler, writing:

“Thanks for visiting today. Great conversation and connecting [with] my mom.”

Though he didn’t share the details of their conversation, it’s clear the moment meant a lot to him — and may have brought him some much-needed peace.

For those unfamiliar, Tyler Henry has built a reputation for offering compassionate and often eerily accurate readings to celebrities seeking closure after losing loved ones. His sessions are known to bring both tears and healing, and fans were touched to see Tyga opening himself up to that experience.

Tyga’s mother, Pasionaye Nguyen, was born in Vietnam, and his father is of Jamaican descent. He was raised in the San Fernando Valley by his mother, who remained a constant source of strength and support as he pursued a music career. While Tyga has often leaned into a rougher, street image during his rap rise, those who knew his background knew that Pasionaye raised him in a stable, middle-class environment filled with love.

It’s no surprise that her loss has hit him hard — she was, by all accounts, his rock.

Tyga rose to fame after signing with Young Money Entertainment, and is best known for chart-toppers like “Rack City” and “Faded.” But in recent years, he’s also shown a more reflective side, focusing on family, growth, and now, grief.

As he continues to honor his mother’s legacy in private and public ways, fans have been flooding his posts with love, encouragement, and support — reminding him that grieving is not linear, and that there’s strength in vulnerability.
