Tyrese Gibson recently opened up about the emotional and financial toll of his divorce from Samantha Lee, admitting the experience has made him hesitant to walk down the aisle again.
During an appearance on NXT Chapter with T.D. Jakes, Gibson said he related deeply to Halle Berry after she shared that she is in no rush to remarry following multiple divorces.
Gibson, who has been dating Zelie Timothy for five years, acknowledged that his girlfriend has dropped hints about marriage, but said his past has made him cautious.
“You don’t know what it’s like to wake up, get married, have a prenuptial agreement in place, have the prenup get cracked where you end up paying all of her legal fees and my legal fees,” Gibson said, describing the fallout from his split. “And now I’m paying all this money to attorneys trying to protect what I have.”
Gibson shares a 7-year-old daughter, Soraya, with Lee, and also has an 18-year-old daughter, Shayla, from his first marriage. He revealed the legal battle stretched nearly five years and ultimately cost him close to $1.2 million.
“And it is really a painful process,” he said.
